Dual Topologically Adaptable Snakes

چکیده
The original Snake model suffers from the strong sensitivity to the initial contour position and can not deal with topological changes. The T-Snake is an approach to relieve the problem of topological changes by embedding the snake model in the framework of a simplicial decomposition of the domain. In this work we propose a new approach by incorporating a generalized dual contour approach in the T-snakes framework: one contour contracts from outside the target(s) and another one(s) expand from inside as a balanced technique with the ability to reject local minima. We discuss 2D experiments. Also, our method can be extended to 3D data.

This paper presents a technique for the segmentation of anatomic structures in medical images using a topologically adaptable snakes model The model is set in the framework of domain subdivi sion using simplicial decomposition This framework allows the model to maintain all of the strengths associated with traditional snakes while overcoming many of their limitations The model can ow into compl...
متن کاملCharacterizations of amenable hypergroups
Let $K$ be a locally compact hypergroup with left Haar measure and let $L^1(K)$ be the complex Lebesgue space associated with it. Let $L^infty(K)$ be the dual of $L^1(K)$. The purpose of this paper is to present some necessary and sufficient conditions for $L^infty(K)^*$ to have a topologically left invariant mean. Some characterizations of amenable hypergroups are given.
متن کاملNon-abelian self-duality from self-interaction
The non-abelian self-dual action in three dimensions is derived using the self-interaction mechanism. Self-duality in three dimensions was proposed initially by Townsend et. al. [1] as an alternative to the topologically massive theory[2]. In principle, they seem different descriptions of a locally massive spin 1 physical excitation: the self-dual theory is described by a non-gauge invariant fi...
متن کامل2 On the dual equivalence of the self - dual and topologically massive B ∧ F models coupled to dynamical fermionic matter
We study the equivalence between the B ∧F self-dual (SDB∧F ) and the B ∧F topologically massive (TMB∧F ) models including the coupling to dynamical, U(1) charged fermionic matter. This is done through an iterative procedure of gauge embedding that produces the dual mapping. In the interactive cases, the minimal coupling adopted for both vector and tensor fields in the self-dual representation i...
